Elementary students raced FTC-parts robots, met P.E.T.E. — our robot dog, donated by GenPac — and got a hands-on look at our swerve drivetrain. It's a first taste of robotics for kids who've never had one.

Twice a year we host an FTC classpack tournament for Sandy High, Boring, and Cedar Ridge middle schools — 20 to 26 teams a term, ending in alliance picks and a playoff bracket. PioBytes members run it start to finish as referees, announcers, and field crew, giving students new to robotics a real taste of coopetition and FIRST.

Working with our community library on public STEM events — starting with Children's Day, where our Business department head walked visitors through our robots and let kids drive our FTC outreach bots. The library is a hub for the whole town, so it's the first of many events we plan to run there.

We mentor LEGO robotics as part of the Oregon Trail School District's Summer Academy, introducing younger students to engineering fundamentals through hands-on builds guided by our members.

Direct, hands-on mentorship for middle school robotics programs from our own members — teaching skills and easing workload for teachers who support robotics without an engineering background of their own.

CPO Finley and Coach Duell are presenting on robotics as a hands-on, constructivist approach to math — from understanding distance in kindergarten to gearing ratios and PID controllers — and bringing UPLOAD along as a live example. Presenting October 2026.
Physical scrum boards didn't survive contact with a real season — nobody could update them outside of class. So Software built The Hub: one site that replaced the boards, then kept absorbing everything else the team needed to track.

The Hub is customizable enough to run an FTC team with small changes, so we're preparing a version other programs can remix on Replit and configure for themselves. We're rolling it out after Championship.
A 60%-scale FRC field for drive and autonomous practice, open to the teams around us.
Modeled in Fusion 360 by our Modeling department, then cut and built to spec by Mechanical. Parr Lumber donated the material in-kind in exchange for a sponsorship placement and naming rights; Sandy Decor later donated carpet so the field would replicate real FRC footing. We've opened it up to neighboring teams 10444 Ursa Major and 6696 Cardinal Dynamics for autonomous testing and drive practice — and there's room for more.
